Interesting you mention this. As far as guitar tone pots go, the ONLY thing the cap does is decide what frequency is shunted to ground through cap. Tonally to output it does nothing. So what value they are matters but what type is irrelevant.

Anytime a song mentions "tears" or "crying" it happens. Always.
Its mentioned only because its what they offered. My options were limited in the 0.12uf variation, plus the harness was free, so i had no reason to complain!!!
But, while i prefer orange drops or box capacitors for their construction, i agree the value is the only tonal factor.

No no I get that. Was just an observation. I think my 1960 Reissue has the same. Not bustin' balls!
I favor the box capacitors because they just seem so well made and compact.
They are great in small, or shallow cavities.

All my late '70s Gibsons, and I have had a bunch, had the little ceramic-disc caps. This must have been early '70s I suppose?

My SG's had ceramic caps only have owned 4 70's Les Paul's all had black Sprague caps

My earliest ones were 1977s. The others older. Maybe that's the difference, or the Nashville shop vs. KMZ.
