Wampler Velvet Fuzz

Told you so, Mr Cat!
I just got one yesterday. As I mentioned elsewhere I have never met a fuzz that I liked, but this is amazing.

It starts like an OD with some minimal fuzz stacked on. At about 2pm, it gets to be the type of fuzz that most fuzz pedals sound like at 10:30. Even with the gain (fuzz) cranked in "big" mode, it does not get flubby. If it does at all, the brightness switch combats this very effectively. So...WOW

&, agreed that it's an amazing pedal. I've had many fuzz pedals and this was my favourite. As an OD fuzz it's great; you could actually have it always on depending on what kinda sound you like, so versatile for a fuzz. I also had the Keeley Son of Fuzzhead which is kinda similar in function, but the Wampler was miles better to my ears.

I think everyone knows how much I like Empress Effects and I find their fuzz intolerable. my Ibanez SD9 was even too fuzzy for me. Based on your word and many reviews, this was my last try to get along with a fuzz pedal. Now that I found one, I truly appreciate it because it easily distinguishes itself on my board.

With single coils/P90s, you could have the VF set quite low just to thicken the sound up with a fuzzy edge, and it'd be a great mid-song/solo/chorus (kinda Smashing Pumpkins'style, but gentler) option. I'm pleased you've finally found some love for fuzz. It's often said that the VF is the fuzz pedal for people who don't like fuzz...

Yes I have found love. I am finally getting those tones I could not with OD. Iit is inspiring my playing. I re-learned Crazy Train tonight!!

Well hell now you guys are making me second guess my recent trade! A guy contacted me for my PP 100HW as he has been looking for that model for a while. At the same time another guy offered me the Velvet Fuzz. I took the Bearfoot Model H so the guy who has been looking for that PP finally got 1.

You can get a nice used deal with a bit of patience
