The "Rez Rocket" is old. Much like a derelict hulk tied to the pier in the shipping yard rusting away as it's no longer fit to go to sea. It's time to scrap the old hulk and move on to another ship. So I'm tired of fighting with the old hulk as it's parting me to death. With luck I'll have a new(er) car tomorrow. I hope. Guess we'll see huh?

I'm looking to get a Lincoln Zephyr fully loaded. This one's clean with 66K on it. So that doesn't fall under the heading of a Rez Rocket.

Hokey Smoke Bullwinkle! I downloaded the manual on this ride last night and am blown away with all the onboard computer stuff! Never seen so much stuff! Used to be the only time I ever drove a NEW car was when the PD bought new patrol units. Well this Lincoln ain't new, but it's newer than anything I ever had! With luck I'll drive it home in a few hours. Keep your fingers crossed.

I hate cars today overpriced junk with too many sensors and drivetrain control modules and everything that breaks.
They do go farther with more miles and less pollution than when I started driving, but car prices have risen SO much faster than working guy wages. Ridiculous.
And all those cash for clunkers got some folks to buy new cars and wiped out a whole generation of possibly good used cars for poor working slobs like me. I'm close to being in that same rusty boat again myself.

Well I got it. Now they're gonna haul the old Rez Rocket away. They allowed me $700 on that beater. Amazing.

Biddlin, I tried the heated and cooled seats. Wild! This thing's got more stuff..... And a great 6 speaker gonzo sound system with an indash 6 CD changer. Wasted upon my near deaf ass! Ha!!
But thanks for the good vibes cranling out from one and all. I REALLY needed a new car as the Rez Rocket had deserted and gone over to the other side. Only down side is that with the car payment and the increase in insurance I'll have roughly $12 at eh end of the month. And that's IF I am real frugal with groceries. Otherwise I'll be forced to eat my dogs and cats! WOW! Bet ya'll didn't see that one comming huh?

Smitty, if memory serves correct, 48mo. I believe. We'll just have to see which expires first, the loan or me! Ha!

But at least I'll have reliable transportation. Can now make my Dr appointments like I need to. (Couldn't before as the Rez Rocket was always acting stupid) And just maybe be able to go places if I want to and not be worried if the brakes will fail, the engine won't start, or some other issues.

Yup. I haven't used mine for much else besides groceries once in a while, but it's nice to feel like you've got a fair chance of getting there and back without a break down.(mine or the car's)

Thanks Tony. My kid brother (another retired copper ) in Sioux Falls said Lincolns are like Space Shuttles. I think he's right too! And he told me if I went back to the rez in it they'd call me a rich wachiu "Whiteman" and try to bum money off me.

Biddlin, I do agree with ya. Nice to know when I turn the key it goes. The Rez Rocket was always a gamble. Not fun 40 miles from home and ya gotta work on it in a parking lot praying it'll get ya home if it starts. Hey, and our Lincolns are the same color too! Or close anyway.

I know the peace of mind it brings --- I bit the bullet and got a car payment 1.5 years ago----- I have greatly enjoyed the time i have NOT SPENT under the hood of a car every weekend spit and twining things together to get through another week......
