VOX VT20X

Very cool yet again!

I had guessed at most the amp models-- that and the videos but the exact years etc. where news to me .....cool link thanks for posting.

@Don O -- hows that 40 watt doing ???

I only had limited time on Sunday to checkout all the amps and their presets. Very nice box Vox developed. I’ll have more time on Friday to do a more thorough checkout and will report back. Many of the presets were very useable and sounded great with the 61 SG reissue.

thanks Don-- Orion was my Doom room Kitty -- he LOVED string changes--- and grabbing the guitar and biting the strings-------when I played----I thought this was cute but maybe he HATED my PLAYING!!! (Lord knows I do) --the SOnex 180 even has a little tooth gouge where he bit the neck........miss that little guy
he was a rescue-- Shannon brought back from the brink--- he had a few years with us then got ill and passed VERY quickly --:cry:

So we rehearsed at mine tonight with Ninja on his Katana 50, drummer and a singer, bass couldn’t make tonight.

The amp was great, some great sounds, the Clean is just sizzling, when you dig into the strings it really shouts back at ya.

Soloing was great and I only had it set around 5w 9-10 o’clock area on power with gain at half way, pushed power up to half way on clean.

It’s a winner for sure

I think this is a honest run down on the VT-40 to my ears sounds nothing like the amps it's trying to emulate
I do own the VT-120 it's stereo 2 x 12" 1 watt per channel 15 watts per channel 30 watts per channel 60 watts per channel and line out IEC power cord
not a 18 volt wall wort. And the Dumble sound is pathetic at best. On my VT-120 sounds nothing like my 1965 VOX AC-30TB.
The good news if I was starting out and had never played the real amps it's trying to copy I would be cheer leading killer little practice amp.

To me I don't care if it doesn't emulate the sounds of other amps. I don't believe they intended to do that specifically , I think they are using the names in general terms. This thing rocks as far as I am concerned, the tones that come from this amp is something I have heard in no other. The reviewer I disagree with , he says the amp is more geared to the beginner,ERR What!! This kind of amp would be great in any Musicians lineup. This is a unique style of amp which I think will catch on. Vox has done it again leading the way. By the way this is not just a practice amp, if it was they wouldn't be putting it out there in a 100 watter or 40 watter for that matter thats not bedroom volume, 5 watts is a bedroom amp the way I see it.

The new × technology is way better the the older VT series which I have owned several models and sizes of
On the mesa setting side by side WITH a mesa......is it identical....no
Is it similar .....yes
Does it have the headroom and the power of a 30 watt tube amp.....no
But that is not the market its targeting
No offense plexi but 90% of the players in the world will never play on a Dumble much less own one
Videos however a ton of fun for under $200

It's cool that a starter/practice amp can even be in the ballpark these days though. Keep in mind the garbage that was available to us when we were learning to play.

Oh man, I didn't graduate to Peavey until I had endured first a horrible little Global and an equally horrible old RCA. At least the RCA was tube, but it wasn't a dedicated guitar amp. Then, finally, I got a Peavey Bandit and thought my sh!t didn't stink because of it, haha!

Come to think of it, that old Bandit probably still works too.
