I have to agree, I think they are ugly. Just not my style for a guitar.
GibsonWho makes an aged, short vibrato that would be "period correct" for this project???
Yup, $5k tops in a pretty pristine condition. As-is, I'd go $1200 TOPS. Even if the correct factory parts can be sourced there's no undoing what has been done to the headstock and as has been stated a new one is going to be a better guitar anyway so maybe finding the exact right buyer would bring the price up but it's never go anywhere near that top end. Honestly, if it was me, I wouldn't throw money away sourcing original parts for it - they will be expensive as hell if they are real and not worth it in the long run for a player grade guitar. I'd put good repros on it and call it a day.

Doesn't matter to me. I just need to source the right parts...the decision has been made to not invest in genuine parts. I just need aged parts.
I‘m not sure you’ll find aftermarket aged parts. To look more the part, you may want to look for a nickel plated part. While not exactly “aged”, nickel won’t have quite the same sheen as chrome and may be more consistent with the look of an older guitar.
These guys do. I wish they would stock the ebony block for the short vibrola again.Who makes an aged, short vibrato that would be "period correct" for this project???
Not worth the investment to use genuine.
