Video Game Addiction...

My 10-yr-old twins are falling into this "game obsession," and Mrs. GM and I are considering getting QuoStudio to monitor and control their usage.
It's scary - We have trusted them their whole lives, and now, just these past few months, they sneak to get their laptops while we're asleep. :(

Keep close tabs on them Goldmember.:)

On U-Boat Simulator, you are in command of a German submarine during WW2 in the Pacific - (the real Monsoon Gruppe was there) - based in Penang.

I play it at 100% realism, making pen and paper calculations for torpedo firing solutions, battery life, C02/oxygen ratios, etc.

Germany's top U-Boat Ace sank about 250, 000 tons. My character is approaching 1,000,000 tons after 4 years of his campaign.

Coolest part is I was real-life chums with the last three living U-boat aces (Kretchsmer, Topp and Hardegen) and I gleaned a lot of tactics during our many conversations that I put to use in the simulation.
your aware the Germans were the enemy...........right?

I just came across this video and found it quite interesting & amazed how video games are so intensive amongst the youth. It's like they breathe, drink, and eat video games all day long. This guy is supposed to be playing Fortnite which seems to be a very popular online game. I think they have way too much time on their hands.

I havent played a video game in at least a decade-----last time my son talked me into playing one--- too complicated -- and SUCH a time suck -- unlike guitars......or forums.....or youtube videos on gear--- or craigslist-- or ----------- oh uhm ...so ...uhm

And here I used to sleep with my baseball glove, football and even a good book. "WTF is a laptop?" my 10 yr old self would have said.

They didnt EXIST when we were 10 Chili ;)

Well actually "laps" did ----- I did a CRAP LOAD of them--- for "talking back" -- ignoring the coach ----- etc.

he used to BITCH at me for "letting the receiver behind you!!" -- now coach -- if I dont let him behind me I cant step in and STEAL THE BALL!!!! -----which I did more times than any defensive safety AT the school at the time!!! -- several touchdown saving interceptions -- yet all I got was "that ISNT what you do--- let them catch it and tackle them!" -- really?? DUDE I was 135 soaking wet -- I couldnt tackle the largest CHEERLEADER! -------well I did do that but thats another story--- my ONLY PLAY was THEFT of the ball! ;)

sometimes I wish I was young and light and fast again.....................

but-- then -- naw-- now I could tackle the receiver -- -- now I could tear his arse up-- but-- Id need half a bottle of advil the next morening to get outta bed---------ugh ---

for the record I HATE GETTING OLD jsut FYI

I used to play Red Alert a lot.

Sometimes I’d play Red Faction and Black Hawk Down.

I haven’t touched a video game in years, though.

I noticed that he talks Ghetto like he is some black guy but that's the way kids talk these days. It's amazing how he figures out the controllers on his keyboard with that game. I'd be seriously confused now by the way they use the keyboard for such an advanced game like this one. What happened to the old days when gaming was simpler and you didn't need 50 control options to operate a simple gun.

After PONG, I lost all interest in video games for about 2 reasons. 1st, The ones in arcades and bars used to cost quarters to play. I was not rich, therefore I saved my quarters and didn't waste them on video games. 2nd, the kind one plays at home cost DOLLARS. I was not rich, therefore I saved my dollars and didn't play video games.

End of story. ( ALMOST)

I did play Donkey Kong once with a 3 year old I was babysitting. The little fella was playing when I arrived and had his own technique.
He obviously didn't know any better, but he held his controller upside down. The little tyke could still beat me doing it upside down and backwards.

A man must know his limitations,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, When beaten by a 3 year old, Don't play Video games.
