Video For Gear Snobs:

If my own gigging days were any indication, most of the patrons probably couldn't remember how they got home, much less our performance ;)

I know we have a fair share of musicians attending our shows based on the amount of gear questions I get, so at least they are not all stoned... LOL

In all my years of gigging , from the early '80s to the late '90s, I think I only got asked about gear maybe two times by someone who wasn't in one of the other bands on the bill.

My guess is that the EMG pickups in the original video are not stock, and off the shelf. Maybe they are, but I'm sure his tech has had some time with the guitar. Either way, I'd like to hear what a guitar pulled off the rack at guitar sinner would sound like, in anything other than a professional studio. I'm sure there is a certain amount of studio compression, then what yootoob does to it. Never mind that my cheap Altec computer speakers are nothing to use to compare products on the internet.

It's a regular occurrence it seems. It's fun though...

Yep, that’s why I bought this new in 1981…

Don you're killin me. I just missed out on a '79 Standard that the seller screwed me out of up in NY State. I was minutes away from buying it, and they emailed me that another buyer beat me to it. I even had a friend heading on a 3 hour round trip to check it out and to bring it home for me if he confirmed it was a keeper. I was not happy especially since I had him call and actually tell them he was coming etc.

Bummer on your almost deal. The LPC was my first real electric guitar, I had 2 Takamine acoustics at the time. I had also bought a TS-9 at the time and foolishly traded it in to GC in the late 90s.

Yup Dono, BUMMER city. I could not believe the seller/seller's underling, f'kd me out of the deal, especially with almost 3-4 pm's per hour, the phone call from my friend that he was coming, and that I told the seller, HEY, give me a total price including shipping to make it happen to get the guitar here to Halethorpe Md the day before while he said she would send me pics the day after/( day of what turned out to be it selling out from under me) as he wasted a trip to their store and back home.
