Video For Gear Snobs:

Love Zakk
If you see a faded sign at the side of the road that says
"15 miles to the Love Zakk"
Love Zakk, yeah, yeah
I'm headin' down the Atlanta highway
Lookin' for the love getaway
Headed for the love getaway
I got me a car, it's as big as a whale
And we're headin' on down to the Love Zakk
I got me a Chrysler, it seats about 20
So hurry up and bring your jukebox money

The love Zakk is a little old place
Where we can get together
Love Zakk, baby (a-Love Zakk, baby)
Love Zakk, baby, Love Zakk
Love Zakk, baby, Love Zakk
Love Zakk, baby, Love Zakk(Love, baby, that's where it's at)
Love Zakk, baby, Love Zakk(Love, baby, that's where it's at)

:D

I think better tone is possible from a Roland Cube!

Hmmm....

Personally, I love it. If I could be half the player as Zakk and have half of his tone, I'dll be happy.

I play every day just to get better.

Tone is subjective. I'd say it's good enough to earn money in a club, that's my evaluation standard.

It's like my tone...love it??? Great??? Hate it??? Cool...I'm happy as a lark either way.

I'll offer you this song lyric...

"So you think my singing's out of time? It makes me money
I don't know why, I don't know why
Anymore, oh, no..."

:-)

May all that you do be blessed...

I mean, Eric Johnson sounds phenomenal, but I wouldn't necessarily want his vocabulary, only because, as great as he is, his style doesn't excite me.

I completely understand. Music is very personal and holds different meanings in different ways for each of us.

And, as often as I speak glowingly of Eric Johnson, he is not my favorite player! Surprised? I do mention him a lot and there are many things about his style that I find very creative and unique.

The fact is, though, I have no favorite players. I have no favorite players, I have no favorite tone, I have no favorite guitar, no favorite style of music, no favorite song…

I tend to pick and choose what I like here and there.

MY favorite tone is Smitty playing guitars at my house or his/my Washburn at Atomic music.
