I built one of the first kit-version Caldera amp heads in order to take photos for the build manual. That amp is now up for sale.

In brief:
- 30 watts from a pair of EL34s (fixed bias, dual bias adjust trim pots)
- high* (*ish) gain preamp design with switches for era (70s/80s), bite (3-position 'bright' switch that boosts mids as well as highs), punch (gain boost), clip ('soft' diode clipping for more distortion), and Fat (fine tune the bottom end).
- best standby switch on the marked (note: there is no standby switch)

For many other details, see syscokid's build thread: NAKD...: V2 Amplification 'Caldera"

Price: $1300 + shipping ($100 off normal pricing)

I'm currently out of effects loops, but I will order more next week. Turn around time is about 3 weeks. Add $100 for loop option

Thanks Fellas. Here are some more pieces of info and answers to questions/comments.

- As syscokid said, the amp weighs in at 24 lbs, at least without the loop.
- I chose to make it 30 watts for several reasons, including significant weight savings (vs. 50W) and the fact that my Toneking Ironman II mini attenuator works with amps up to 30 watts. So you can get this amp down to 1W-level volumes with that unit :)
- amps are packaged to survive shipment. two boxes (outer box is double-wall), soft and hard foam.

I can also definitely vouch for John's super packaging skills. Everything is protected extremely well... (y)

That is the correct way to pack, double boxed.
Now can you teach everybody else "how to pack?" Cause most people just don't get it.
