V2 Caldera clip

Thanks Gents. I fired up another Caldera last night. This one has 50 watts and is currently sporting EL34 II tubes for more low end.
PS. She boxes are handy.

Wow, a 50 watt Caldera!

I'm also noticing an OT by Amp Parts Direct, made by Heyboer. Currently, I'm super frustrated in obtaining quality iron for a 2204 build that's in the works for TTR's Robert Herndon. Primarily trying to deal with Marstran, and even though I know that according to their website there is a minimum of a 12 week lead time, I sent them an order request 13 fricking days ago asking them to please send me an invoice to get the order process started. No response yet. Yesterday I sent Merren Audio a request for info and ordering their trannies... Nothing yet!

APD Heyboer's and Mojotone Heyboer's are out of stock! This really sucks... :BH:

Man, Greg, I had nothing but a good experience with Bryan at Marstran. BUT that was over a decade to 15 years ago.

I just pulled up Marstran's site and I see they have the Covid disclaimer scenario going on.,

I left Chris Merren an email message expressing my interest in his trannies for Robert Herndon's 50 watt JMP/JCM800 build. It's only day-5, but no response yet. The next day after sending Merren that message, Marstran finally got back to me, and finally I was able to order some trannies from him. 12 week minimum turnaround time.

George at Metroamp has temporarily suspended sales of his Marshall-speced trannies, because Heyboer is going thru the supply chain blues, and just can't deal with the headache of the uncertainty of when Heyboer is going to get back up to speed... If they ever do...

The 'new' line of vintage guitar-amp transformers by Hammond are clones of ClassicTone units. Check 'em out.
At the Tubesandmore.com website, I actually had the Hammond 290gz power tranny and the Hammond 1750n output tranny saved in the shopping cart. But I wanted to give Chris Merren a few days to respond. But then Marstran communicated with me, and made the order official with him.

Hammond has been around a while, and their reputation is very good. Had I taken the Hammond route, I probably could have saved Robert about 25% to 33% on the cost of a set of trannies, and most likely, they would have been on my doorstep in a week. But there's definitely some good mojo with Marstran trannies.

It's my understanding that Phil at Heyboer winds the transformers for Merren and Marstran the thing is you have to order 10 each with Phil
$220.00 set up fee for every transformer run. So PT output choke $660.00 set up fee. 30 transformers.
How do I know been their done that. Price could be more now it's been a few years.
