I spotted one of these which I picked up today. It is suppose to be 5 watts. It has an 4/8/16 ohm select switch. It has a built in adjustable power sponge. It comes with an 8 ohm speaker 8 inch speaker. When I measured it was around 7.8 ohm. It has a good tone. It also has a built in tremolo with speed and depth adjustment. The only strange thing about it is the tubes are located in an odd position, with a hard to screw back on cage. It has one 12AX7 and a EL84, both are JJ Electronics. I only had it plugged in briefly, I will probably put a Jensen P8R in it. I may change out the tubes to Mullard for preamp and TAD for the power tube. Here are some quick shots I took. Sorry about the quality. I was in a hurry doing five things at once as usual.

I'm pretty sure that on these tube amps with the ohms selector switch it doesn't make any difference what the ohms load is as long as the switch matches the load. The switch effectively adds a dummy load so that the amp always sees 16 ohms.

If the ohms load is too low then you'd arch the tube socket and destroy the EL84

The switch usually selects the correct tap on the output transformer, it does not switch in a dummy load. You have to be sure to select the correct setting for the impedance of the speaker you are using.

The speaker reads 7.8 ohms so I'm safe running switch at 8 ohms. I just gave the little combo a try again just now and played for about an hour on it. I used an G&L asat tribute, Morning Glory V4, Sunface NKT Red Dot, Morley MTG2 mini GL Dragon 2 wah. The speaker is nice and broke in. It has a mellow warm tone. I want to try an SG Special through it, with the same above mentioned gizmos. The speaker sounds good but I'm changing it out along with the tubes. I can always swap back if I don't like it.
