@Don O - I love pointers! Mom used to put marks on all the studio guitars with a grease pencil.

I had to compete with a case and knob pic for principle of course!

These photos were taken not long after I first picked it up in September 2016.

So new to pointers. Is there a ‘“standard” for where 10 is? I would think the pointer for 10 should be directly along your line of sight to the pot.

Hey, Don-O.. (book em' Don-O) LOL, most of the original Gibson's I have examined have the pointers in the 1 O'clock range, so I put mine in that area.

Here's the factory installed pointers on my 2016 Gibson Les Paul 50's Tribute:



And the ones input on my Von Herndon Double Neck:



And the ones on my 2016 Gibson SG, which are closer to 12 O'clock:

Robert, the LP and th DN are what I was talking about. When the guitar is around your neck, looking down at the pointer, it should be directly in your line of sight to the center of the pot. The walnut one seems like an odd setup. And, of course, when set to max volume, 10 should be under the pointer.

The bare wood SG just kind of evolved.....but as long as I can see the pointer, all is good!!!!

Guilty. I have a few non-Boss ones too, somewhere. The Mesa is rock solid there. The shelf is screwed to the wall (earthquake country, ya know).

Like I said in the Les Paul picture thread: The weather has been fantastic here for the last month, so I had to snap a couple photos of my main guitars outside to celebrate the sunshine.

The SG looks less comfortable amongst the flowers than the goldtop does although the SG seems very at ease with the beer...

Now, I've been planning to do this, but the problem is that the sun is up at around 04.20 and only sets around 23.00... And the light is just too dans strong at the moment. I'll get around to it when the weather normalizes somewhat!
