Unofficial SG picture post

That's sure a nice guitar Rockin' Robby...too bad it spends more time in your guitar case then it does in your hands playing it thanks to your 2-headed beast.;) What pick ups are in it? Are they the 490R/490T combo?

;>)/

Nope...the 490T/490R came out and it got Gibson 57 Classics, which I didn't like, and ultimately, it got GFS Alnico II Professional Series back in 2016....

It's getting Gibson Burstbucker Pros installed today...

I've enlisted my Gibson SG Special into the army to fight against corporate crap they call music!:D This is a later photo of my SG but with Epiphone pick ups in it. I did a pick up swap between my SG and my 2006 black Epiphone Les Paul Standard which I think has the Alnico Classic Humbuckers which actually sound really good. The Gibson 490R/490T pick ups sound fantastic in my Epi LP probably due to the weight of the guitar and the 500k ohm Alpha pots which really lets the sound out. I've aged all the metal parts on my SG including the pick up covers and Grover tuners from muriatic acid fumes. The results turned out very well. I also turned around the neck pick up backwards and wired it in backwards so that when the 3-way selector switch is in the middle both pick ups are permanently out of phase and it's optimal if both volumes are at the same exact setting no matter which number. I spray-painted the bridge pick up cover black but some of the paint came off due to picking on the guitar. It's ready for attack!:flame:

Is that pic taken at the Military Museum at the airport in Oshawa, BlackSG91?

You got it my friend! Right beside the Airport golf course on Thornton Rd. I used to live on Waverly St. N. by Stevenson & Rossland so I was not too far away from the military museum. The tank looked pretty cool and I thought it would make a good photo-op for me axe.:)

Collection of hanging cables?

Whilst that collection is most impressive and affords me the opportunity to ask a quick question: for a cable with a right angle jack going into a junior I was thinking about a $30 VOX cable for home practice and such - Mr Cable Guru, any thoughts?

The guitar collection was the main collection I was mentioning, and that 3 pickup Custom beast looks like it could walk over to most other SGs and smash their faces in!

Sorry to butt in...but...

My favorite instrument cable “ever” is a regular CBI cable like one of these...
CBI GA American Made Guitar Instrument Cable

that I attached one of these to...

Crazy awesome...for the last eight years.

Buying them pre-made is pricey, but possible.

Thank you.
I got that guitar over 49 years ago.
It's a definite keeper.

As for the cable:
The cable Don mentioned will do the job just fine.
So will these. No need to spend $30.00.

Just stay away from the ones with the molded ends in the bubble packs.
(like the ones Radio Shack used to sell)
