Ummm...Gibson bought Mesa.....

Yep, couple weeks ago. They tend to buy into other companies and ultimately, the deals end in pretty short time. They owned Trace Elliot and Orange for brief periods in the 90s and early 2000s

I am hoping maybe Gibson will put out a Mesa head you can buy for under $1000 new. I mean their 25w mini head is what $1600.00? The cheapest used 25w on Reverb is $850....I have found a Mesa combo here or there on craigslist for $500-600. Not that I need one or anything but you never know. If Orange can do it they should be able to?

Hopefully they will use their team to produce these quicker and more affordably but im not holding my breath lol the two individually are notorious for pricing and together, i wonder?

I looked in the wrong section I guess, I looked in the Amp section and didn't see it :sadwave:

Why should they?

That would destroy MESA's image.

(and - for those can't or won't afford a Mesa amp there are plenty of good alternatives around.)

Are you saying Orange ruined their reputation by making the affordable heads? And how does the acquisition to Gibson rather than staying Mesa help that old reputation when it ain't the same company anymore?

... are they? Especially the tube amps?

... regarding the Gibson years of Orange: 1993-1997. Previous to the "affordable" product line.

BTW: Gibson Brands acts like a holding and the subsidaries are at least profit centers if not formally independent companies (e.g. Baldwin, Stanton, formerly Onkyo) which seem to act relatively on their own.
