A German Shepherd, a Doberman and a cat die at the same time and arrive together before the throne of God.

God asks the German Shepherd, "What do you believe?"
The dog answers, " I believe in discipline, obedience, and the protection of my master."
"Very good," says God, "You may come and sit at my right side."

He asks the Doberman, "What do you believe?'
The dog answers, " I believe in love, affection, and loyalty to my master."
"Well said; you may come and sit at my left side."

Then God asks the cat, "What do you believe?"
The cat replies, "I believe you're sitting in my seat."

People suggest dogs are smarter than cats. For the most part, I would agree. If nothing else. Dogs seem to be more trainable.

We had both when I was growing up. They’d both be in the backyard and would start chasing each other. Usually running in a circle. After about two laps, the cat would sit down and watch the dog continue to run several more laps as fast as she could run. And I’m thinking. Which one is the smart one?
