TVvoodoo's Straplab

Victoria Day Weekend up here. She ruled the British Empire for 60 years, had nine children and survived 8 assassination attempts.

Completely unrelated, this is my version of a simple little guitar security gadget many my age remember fondly.

Mike had never purchased anything from me before... but took a leap of faith ordering 16 pairs, eight in black, eight in various browns. Cleaned me out of the special hardware I keep on hand for these Old School Leather strap locks.

This weekend working on a belated spring cleaning of the shop. But early next week expect to see these completed, in the store

The fun in these is the open-endedness. What will they caution others against? Depends on the day, amirite?

This weekend we also get to celebrate another Well-Hung workingman guitarist...

Carlos just recently found me and is spreading the word. I LOVE when all you unsung guitar heroes send me great pics, though I did heavily doctor this one. Fun!

New in the shop today, as promised... "Fair Warning"

There's two of them, reduced from my typical strap price as the main body is a nice auto vinyl that's a leather fooler, the nose, ladder and tail sections are reinforced cowhide. these go approx 44-60 and one think I should caution about them is they are so luxuriously padded, you may find yourself wondering why you have any other brand of strap in your stable!

Also new today... Another Stage King... "Pomegranite" just trying stuff.. this is a one-off. I like it! May be more in the pipeline later on. 3" wide hootenanny strap. built on a reinforced soft corduroy base. Heavy hardware, and padded too. 43"-60" plus works on these.

It's nice to add some colour to the store once in awhile!

Something new in the store I've been working on for a couple days here, called "Shred." Is this something you can do? I can noodle a pentatronic lick or three, but my skills fall short of anything anybody here'd even generously label as "shred."

But this leather came to me looking like it was put through a farm combine, spat out the back, jumped on for a while by a couple of hired-hands in heavy boots. Then, just for the Hell of it, ran through the combine for a second time. It's pretty awesome!

I get at least dozen asks a year for "distressed" leather, as if the Well-Hung custom shop (LOL!) has a whole lot of time for putting full leather hides through my uncle George's combine. It's a valid look, but I've tried to age leather with less than satisfactory results. The factories have ways.

Look at this beautiful natural honey colour! It's as if it was made to match both natural maple or baked maple necks. These neutral tones are going to look at home on most any guitar I can think of.

I made four of these, and I think they are some of the best straps I've made so far this year. Luxury padded, approx 42"-58" for length. Really good strong dark brown oil-tanned leather, nose tail and ladder. Wondering what I've been going on about for years here? Maybe you've been waiting for a proper, practical versatile Well-Hung strap for your guitarsenal, this would be a great first choice!

Now in the reverb store, which by the way now has over TWO HUNDRED listings! Happy hump day!

@GrooVey you keep talking like that and I too will end up hiring a bunch of pissy lawyers and going after everyone who
copies well-hung. Oh wait, there's too much work in what I do... BIG strap doesn't have the stomach for it.

Happy Friday Warriors! It's finally greening up around these northern parts we have about another week afore the
mosquitos assert their territorial rights

New in the shop as of this morning a rare-ish black strap from the Well-Hung StrapLab.
"Ostrichized" is beautiful embossed cowhide in semi-gloss black. So much texture!

I got this hide in from Greece, very near Italian leather quality.

If there is one leather type that allows one to exude the whole "wealth 'n taste" vibe, it's a Well-Hung ostrich.
Pleased to meet you... hope you guessed my name... 'cause strappin' you is the naycher of my ga-ame!

One thing I like to do with my reverb store shots is show a pic from further off.... gives you an idea how it's going to read from further off.
These things are important. Just another thing I do different than the rest.

Speaking of ridiculously cool and un-boring black guitar straps, Steve picked up one of my Basket Case units, yet again pleased to the brim.

Honestly? Everybody needs a black leather strap in the guitarsenal. But if you're gonna get one, why not one that's wide, padded and has a little something extra visually over all the others?

Well-Hung is the way!
