Tuck N Cover!!!!

Way to go Don! That is such a cool looking amp and cab.

Oh, and I see Whipping Post on the white board :dood:

Thanks! The black one was a gift for doing some recon work on some other old gear for a friend. Since I got it, I’ve grown quite fond of the old Kustom amps.
Yep...whipping post...with a touch of the Zappa version in there.

I see a Mesa just to the right also.

Yep...I need to re-work things a bit down there. I had it on another wall a while back, and I think it will have to return there soon.

Love them Amps.

Thanks! So do I. The other guitar player in my band went with me to retrieve it. He sat through my first test session with the bass. He said everything sounded very Geezer Butler.

Just for posterity...
The amp is a Kustom K200-A1 head, dating to between January and June of 1968.
The cab is a 2X15, bass model 2-D 140 with what looks to be J.B. Lansing D 140F speakers.
The aluminum ports are lacquered, and have turned gold with age. They were originally silver, polished aluminum.
A non-musician picked it up at an estate sale, and couldn’t sell it fast enough after discovering it took up a lot of room. Some of the locals were lowballing him, he got disgruntled, and dropped his price on Craigslist. I bit, and told him that I would cherish it for the cool amp it is, and actually use it. I told him straight up, that his original asking price was fair, but he was too far from me to justify the risk, and expense...but when he dropped to where he did, I was comfortable with the gamble, and promised that I would never bother him again if anything was wrong with it. I came carrying cash, and didn’t waste too much of his time. I plugged it in, turned it on, listened to the caps embrace the electricity, turned it off, handed him the cash, packed it in my car, thanked him, offered him the remaining cash in my pocket($30.00...he declined), and I left.

Tbdon, didn't I see that brown SG for sale somewhere? Were you buying or selling? Is it as nice as it looks?
Hahahahaha! Thanks! If you saw one for sale, it was not mine. That was my first SG. I purchased it new, locally, at a brick and mortar shop(in 2012). I love that guitar...even though I keep altering it.(nothing that can’t be undone though)
I have no intention to sell it.
I just put new pickups in it, and a five ply pick guard on it. I can’t get enough play time on it now.
So... I’m flattered that you think it looks nice...I think it’s a really good guitar. Especially now. Thanks :D

No it ads sustain.......dust that is .....

I just may actually change the strings on it(the Washburn bass) sometime soon. I’ve been ignoring a set of Rotosounds that I’ve had for maybe a couple/few years.
I don’t honestly remember the last time I changed strings on that thing.
Heck, I’m struggling to remember the last time I had to tune it...that bass is like a rock.
