Tube Screamers

I still own a original TS-9

I have that same Chandler Tube Driver pedal. I also have the rack mount version. A few years ago, I loaned it to a friend who does a lot of gigs in places like NYC where a backline will be supplied. A couple of times, he had been given Fender Twins for an amp, and was stuck with a clean tone all night. He loved the Tube Driver, and now has grabbed a couple of different current variations so that he can get his regular sound if given a clean amp again.

As for Tube Screamers themselves, I've never been a fan, and don't really need them because I don't often use mid scooped amps. I do have a couple of Fenders and an AC-30, but I prefer using a Treble Booster. I agree with Plexi, I love my Drybell Engine. A Marshall input stage and a Treble Booster in the same pedal... What's not to love.

I use dramatically boosted mids and I find my Maxon era TS-9 gives me the mid boost I like, plus the advantage of tightening the low end when running the resonance control full up.
