It's that time of year to ask for donations to pay the bills and keep the lights on here. Server hosting fees, domain name registration, XenForo software subscription and XF2 subscriptions are all coming due soon. These subscriptions are what keep this place online and operational.
Long term members here are all familiar with this process. For all of you new members here is the story. This site is not owned by a big corporation like many of the other sites that have been getting gobbled up and plastered with advertising. This site belongs to the membership here. I keep the site functioning and upgraded and I do not make a profit from it. I donate my time and skills for the love of music, making music, listening to music, sharing music with like minded people. At one time I had 2 partners and we split the bills 3 ways to keep this site going. My former partners decided that they no longer wished to participate with this place and this site came very close to shutting down... Forever! I did not want to see this happen, however I could not afford to pay out of my pocket to keep the lights on here so I turned to y'all, the members here to help keep this site going.
We do not charge any membership fees. We do not give and special consideration such as titles or banners for members that donate to TTR. We do not look down on members that can't afford to make a donation. What we do is gratefully accept donations from y'all, just enough to pay the bills to keep the lights on for another year. Once we have met our goal, the request for donations ends and no more mention of it until the following year.
This years goal is $1,040. I can accept payments by Zelle, PayPal, check or gold and silver. So far nobody has paid in gold or silver, but I can dream. If you use PayPal, please send it as a gift or PayPal will stick their greedy little paws in and take a percentage for themselves. I prefer not to use PayPal because they turn in a 1099 and the Govt. taxes me as income. This has happened for the past couple of years. For those paying by check, DM me for the address to send it to. Likewise for those paying with Zelle, DM me for my Zelle info.
