TTR Mug Shots

Aha, outstanding! I've seen that first photo before I'm almost certain, maybe over at S/T.

Being able to play with one's offspring in a band (or bands!) is really fantastic.

Really made my 60th Birthday Party at Casa Krashpad extra special. It was a wonderful night, at the time I was in three bands. The acoustic Irish music side band opened, followed by the performance art/experimental/weirdmusik side band, and then my main band (old school punk rock and roll) closed, with daughter on bass:

That is really cool.
Have no kids but I used to play with my brother drummer and have done some 1 set fun things here n there with him lately.

Sending our eldest Grandkid off to college this fall... actually, in a couple weeks. Can ya guess where? Just happens to be her dad's Alma Mater.

Fightin' Illini! Didn't former Gator coach Lon Kruger coach B-ball there? I only ask because: A) I'm a Gator, and B) my legal last name is Kruger.

All my parents' people are originally from Illinois. I think my dad attended some classes at Southern Illinois. But he graduated across the border, from Purdue.

He did coach at Illinois from 1996-2000.

That's a great shot. A 335? Pretty guitar. And with blocks! My knowledge of Gibson semi's and hollowbodies is extremely limited, as they are too rich for my blood. I'm happy with my Casino and WildKat though. (y)
Thanks. Yeah, a 335. Although it probably looks like a 339 because of my size. I found this one a couple of years ago at my favorite used guitar shop in New Hampshire for a very reasonable price. After owning it very briefly, I wondered why I never bought one years ago. It's one of my favorite guitars now. It's incredibly comfortable to play.

I'm only 5'7" on a big hair day. So I always figured a fullsize 335-style guitar would be too big and ungainly for me. Am happy to report that I was very much mistaken in that assumption.

The other cool thing about that Casino (besides that it already had a batch of cool mods: Bigs, Grovers, black dogear covers, Rio Grande in neck pickup, 5th pot master volume control) is that it was free! A gift from bandmates, in some of my darkest days, recovering from treatment from throat cancer, about a dozen years ago. I literally was brought to tears when they gave it to me. It wasn't a hugely expensive guitar, obviously, but that they would make such a sweet gesture (these were all much younger people without a lot of dosh) was very humbling. I'll never part with her. Named Mary, as I received her at a practice on a Holy Saturday, and she made her public debut with me the next day in an Easter Sunrise service.

Obviously, none of the above shots are from the church gig, haha. ;)

What a cool story to share.
Looks good on you.

I love the guitar and I love the story!

My daughter, 4, getting ready to introduce the band at our CD release party, 2005.

She was trying to convince me to let her sing with us, too.

We’d switch rigs (guitars, effects, amps and all) mid-song during a very Vaughan Brothers-esque instrumental I wrote called “Travis County Line” (the county Austin, Texas is in).
