We had our first Siamese (Roo) cremated and he sits in a box on the fireplace mantle. Never done that before, but I have to say it really makes a difference for us.

Yea our cats tend to stay with us for a good long time, one made it to 25 years with us, and when he got sick his eyes , and teeth were still perfect, but the vet said he would never wake up from the surgery, so we had to put him down!
When Ginger stops eating, we will have to do the same with her , the wife and I have already discussed this.

We have had a few of them before, but it’s never easy !!

We had a beagle when my kids were growing up. Had always been more a cat person than a dog person. My wife did not like cats and my eldest is asthmatic and allergic to cats.... so we got a beagle. And yes. Even to this hard heart, these guys become family. Cried like a baby when it was her turn to go.
