TTR Les Paul picture and appreciation post

A couple of pics of my two Lesters:

Naturally, I have modded both somewhat...

The Junior (2009) is mostly stock, but has had pointers fitted, and I put on a Tyson Tone Wraptail '60 pickup.

The Traditional 1960 Goldtop (2011) has a new TRC, gold top-hat knobs, tall pickup rings, a set of Throbak PG-102 pups and I buffed out the "1960" inscription on the pickguard. And I COMMITTED THE ULTIMATE SIN of swapping the Nashville bridge for a Faber ABRN (an ABR bridge that fits Nashville studs). I did it simply for looks. I know that the Nashville bridge is a technically superior bridge with better travel for the saddles, but my guitar still intonates perfectly with the new bridge. Naturally I kept the old one should I need to swap back.

Both guitars have suffered headstock breaks . The goldtop at the hands of a previous owner, and the Junior courtesy of the Norwegian postal service. Both have been repaired by skilled luthiers and play perfectly.

Dudes,

I've never been a Les Paul guy...

But this Les Paul has just blown me away. Its not pretty - like a LPC - but its got a fabulously fat, straight neck, the best fretjob of any my 4 new Gibson's (equal to my 2016 Gibson SG T Series) and really great tone. Aside from needing copper shielding, I cannot find anything bad to say about it.

Here it is with the 3 ply Gibson pickguard, Gibson Top Hats and Gibson poker chip.

Once I reinstall the original Gibson Green Keys, this will be totally stock and 100% Gibson inside and out.

Here is my 2004 Gibson LP Standard Doublecut that is recently acquired:

It has 490R/498T pickups and is all original except for a set of gold mirror tophat knobs and Schaller straplocks I installed after this photo was taken. It is in near perfect condition and sounds amazing.

Here is my Warmoth LP that I put together about 8 years ago. Seymour Duncan Alnico 2 Pro Slash pickups, Orange Drop caps and EVH (Bourns) pots:

It is a bolt-on mahogany neck with ebony fretboard and Tusq nut. The body is mahogany with a gorgeous flame maple top and natural maple binding a la PRS. Finished in a tiger's eye burst. It sounds killer and would be the guitar I would save if the house was on fire!

Session 5 I have looked at several of the Session Strat Godins. They look and sound very cool! And the fact that they are made in Canada and so was I is a big plus for me!

You should also check out the Godin Belmont guitars which is what I have...amazing feel & play-ability. They're called now the Richmond series Belmont but still under the Godin name. It's a real fun guitar to play.;)
