Solo was just first take noodling. That part I like singing at home not as much.

Im trying fellas i have never played a whole song let alone write one way out classed in this part of the competition i have some lyrics I appreciate the help i have received in trying to accomplish this task but my knowledge and finger skills are very very poor and new i have some lyrics but when it takes hours of trying to get 1 lick down
It is depressing

All I did on mine was program my trio+ with 3 parts using 4 chords.
Then I just tried to play anything that went with the drums and bass using that key. The solo part was whatever.

I don't know for some people songwriting seems like some kind of dark alchemy. I can whip 'em out way too fast.
Sure they suck, but it's too easy. Where I fall apart is raw talent/guitar skills and my mix/mastering ear/knowledge brutal
An exercise like this gives a person a whole new appreciation for those artists who can do it all, write, produce,
sing, play, perform.

I'll bet a good producer engineer could make Jethro's voice come out to sound like a total rock star on that track.
It was pretty good to begin with honestly. I did keep waiting for the big drums to kick in, but they never did LOL!

Great submission Jethro, song, job, band secret - had it all, and was worth waiting for!

here who have played/performed for thirty or more years. This is supposed to be for fun right?

That was pretty cool Heinous @mcblink - I kept hearing like dark "spoken word" over it. Like a Leonard Cohen type thing.
The mexi trumpet was awesome, mysterious and suspensful LOL! loved it.

If I coulda belted it out would help. I always feel like everything I come up with has been done before. So I rarely write songs. I have some but saving for real songs for band.

I just picked up the guitar and tried to grind out something gritty, jotted down some lyric idea that could be expanded on.
And hit the red button.

Oh and I tried to improvise a slow, solo, that may not have fit the mood, and I stumbled with it.
