Years ago, i started using 0.01uf but recently I wanted a bit more lower frequency when rolled to zero.

Here's a Stratocaster I wired up from scratch today for a client. A trio of Fender Noiseless Singles, 250k CTS Pro pots, a .022uf Capacitor on the neck pickup 'hot' lead (to roll off highs) stand-alone bridge tone control, Pure Tone input jack and a .047uf tone capacitor.

The pots were delivered to me already used and I had to clean up the back of the pots as best I could.

I built a treble bleed for this from a .033uf capacitor with a 220k resistor, basically using just what I happened to have on hand at the moment.

Tremolo bridge rubs the pickguard. Clearance is needed.



A few passes with a jeweler's file and it's starting to look right.

Regarding treble bleeds ... in a bass i find them particularly useful, but usually with larger values:
1nF||1.5MOhm in the RD bass with Thunderbuckers and 680 pF||390 k in the Primavera which has a stacked humbucker with 14k DCR, both equipped with 500k pots.
