Traded a partscaster for a Supro clone

It was a very nice partscaster but I'm just not a strat guy. Never bonded with it. The amp was hand built by an electrical engineer locally. Not sure if it was a kit or not. It is a clone of a 60's Supro Super 1606 with one 6V6, one 12AX7, one 5Y3, an on/off volume control, and an 8" Jensen speaker. It rocks. It hits full volume and 4 on the dial and past there it just gets more compressed and distorted. At full volume it is not too loud, almost good enough for a small gig, with an unbelievable blues/rock tone. I'm really starting to get into low watt, simple amps.

Depending on the B+, coupling and bypass caps, etc that affect the tweaky details of the circuit, that basically screams Tweed Champ!!!

Congrats.
Nothing like cranked tube at reasonable volume..

I know a lot of guys like the modellers, but ONE knob and maybe a couple of pedals ....
will keep you rocking a long time.

If mine could talk it would be in an asian voice and keep saying "me love you long time"

It’s similar to a Champ but different :) I don’t know enough about circuits to know exactly how it’s different. From my research it is something about a grid bias.

Well Done Man....

Low Watts where its at if you are not playing GIANT ARENAS......1000 watts is over kill----

HOWEVER Sp8ctre if your listening --- you need to send me that Bugera......its just collecting dust and it weights so much it will pull Califrnicate into the ocean ----- trying to BALANCE the country man............Im a giver that way ;)

I have four amps currently, all tube. They range from 1 watt to 15 watts. Even the i watt is too loud if the neighbours are home. I live in a duplex :)
