Tracks from the Crate

Fall Back Friday ...
i'm not feeling so great atm for a number of reasons, so how about this one:
Homebound Self-Isolation

Recorded in 2020 right after WHO first declared the COVID outbreak a pandemic.
There were some very dark days ahead, but we survived them ... and that gives me hope.
The release notes:
Well, the title kind of speaks for itself, but ...
i wanted to do something to help keep myself occupied during this time, and so i came up with a '10 in 10' concept: that is, i would try to produce a new track every single day over a 10 day time frame.
i came close; i had to go just past the 10 day timeframe because one of the tracks i made was almost 9 minutes long, and that just didn't fit with the 'making things more concise' goal i've set myself for the present ...
but it's a good track, and hopefully it will make it onto a different album eventually as part of a set of looper based tracks.

Ironically, the run time for this album is just about perfect for the ride home on my commuter train ... which i'm not taking at the moment.
i'm on the offramp, metaphorically speaking.
Stay safe, and stay well!

Happy Valentine's Day!!!

This album has been a while in the making.

Back in November of 2021, Ben Walker and I first collaborated on a track, 'Aurelia's Late Nite Stroll'.
I thought that it worked out really well with the way our styles and voices complemented each other.
Since then I've been hoping and scheming on how to get him to do a full collection of tracks with me,
and finally things fell into place with just the barest minimum of nudging (LOL).
Not only did Ben come up with some amazing bass parts, but he's also playing trumpet and flugelhorn here,
a side of him that many people might not be aware of.
'Watch this space' became kind of a catch phrase for us over the course of the project, indicating that one of us
had something coming for the other to check out &/or work on, and it seemed a fitting title for the album as well.
