totally unpopular opinions.

Ive left this thread alone but guess i should say somthing now
I cant stand les pauls
They look like a dogs a** are to heavy and uncomfortable but there is somthing to be said about there tone
After my V they are my favorites along with the SG, strats come in third place, but I still play them all..
Cheers

Im sorry "Carmelized maple" ...... thats better than BAKED lol sweeter tone!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Truth is: metal can be achieved by any guitar. A tele might not look it but it too can go heavy. I know that is NOT a popular opinion but feel free to ask John 5, Jim Root, Joe Duplantier about how they just simply cant go heavy. Even James Hetfield, Pepper Kennan and Jerry Cantrell toyed with them

Then on the flip side, guitars such as semi hollowbodies, namely 335s have found usage in metal. That defies belief but Ted Nugent even took it a step further and used a full hollowbody for very hard rock

Ive played one of these--- @Ramo ........... if you ever tried one ----- you would be amazed --

ITs like NO OTHER TELE made by any other mfct. that I personally have ever played. I was fortunate enough to have the use of one (in a flamed yellow finish) for a couple weeks ..........man -- very very very nice quality -- fast thin neck -- active pups...... scream demon ..... in a plain brown wrapper. ;)

I would not call it heavy metal but Mark from Great White used to play a Tele, as I believe it was his only top line axe for some time, and he didn’t even have humbuckers in it.
Thanks

Very true! Im not a Tele advocate by any means lol but i figured out a long time ago that looks arent everything. Granted, some guitars look the role better than others like Vs, SGs, Explorers or super Strat designs, but you can get it from non conventional ones too. Its all the hands lol

To be fair... I'm not a fan of John 5, Jim Root, or Joe Duplantier. nothing against them (other than the whole tele thing) but just not really my thing. And yes.. James Hetfield has used a telecaster but only time ive seen it in a music video was during the load/reload era...when they started going downhill :).

Never was a fan of hollowbodies either, uncomfortable to me. I've seen hollowbodies used in doom metal to great effect though, still not my thing.
