Tone Fork

Last week I needed to tune the 12 str acoustic. It's been years.

I did not have a clip on tuner handy around here. I didn't want to DL another app for that. So I grabbed the tuning fork and made it happen. When I got to practice, I had a few bevs & puffs. I told the band that I used a pitchfork to tune. Duh! They corrected me and wondered if a modified pitchfork could tune a 4 string bass.

Technically I could have been correct, as a tuning fork resonates a pitch. A

I started out using a tuning fork and failing that a key on a piano or synth, get a reference, tune the rest by ear with harmonics and double check. Depending on the string/note/instrument, I have Boss tuners that don't agree with each. And my Pearl doesn't agree with them all the time, either. I've seen other types of tuning fork apart from A/440Hz, but they're not very common. I've only got the standard A type.
