To What Are Yee Listenin' Right Now?

Dono, when I think of Foo Fighters, I get transported back to some of the bastard stepchildren projects of some of my favorite groups and front men who of the latter have sadly passed. Wood, Staley, Cornell, Wiland...

From my appreciation of Alice In Chains, Sound Garden, Some of my favorites from Cornell came from Audioslave. What I dig most is how they seem to CHUG along in hypnotic fashion but like getting pounded by a succession of doses of adrenaline. I mean listen to Show me How to LIVE!!!!


Rather than post most of the links, I will mention the songs, as the list is many for this message.

Be Yourself, Cochise, Like A Stone, I am the Highway to name a few. Of course all my favorites from Soundgarden too.

A little Andrew Wood and Mother Love Bone brings me back to Chloe Dancer,
AIC of course gives me Would as my all time favorite, then
STP, Velvet Revolver and Wiland eras, I can't ever get enough of
 
More Revolver will bring me listening to Slither which to me is so STP like it isn't funny.
I will always have deep STP roots in my Bass, Guitar and Drumming repertoire. Interstate Love Song, Vaseline, Crackerman have to be some of the first STP I got hooked on too. No wonder Robert DeLeo is one of my favorite bass players and Eric Kretz's grooves just stick with me too.

Dono, I never missed any decade, just a huge variety of bands from all over the world past and present, and some of the material from the already known to me bands, mostly due to limited income and time to acquire any semblance of a huge collection of gems such as this one.


NOW At almost 57 yrs old, I feel very blessed to own a number of fine guitars, basses and drums like many artists could make magic with.
Despite not too high a cost for all, my Pearl and Rogers drums, P and J basses, SG's, Strats, Lp, Acoustics, all can be made to make pro quality music. But to own pieces of history like my 1972 Marshall, or my Superlead, or Laney AOR, the likes of gear that Iommi would have made music like this on just blows my mind. SG's Laneys, P Basses. All treasures to me.

UPO only made 2 records. Both are excellent. The singer died of brain cancer and the band broke up.
I did okay with the storms. They either went to the east or west of New Orleans. Florida took a beating.
 
It's Mark Sandman's birthday, so listening to Treat Her Right and Morphine. Such a tragic loss, to have him gone so young. Seen Treat Her Right dozens of times. Morphine were awesome!
