To What Are Yee Listenin' Right Now?

I wish I could like SRV. I understand the technical quality of his playing, and on Jennifer Warnes's Famous Blue Raincoat his playing was top notch. But behind all of that he feels like a Jimi Hendrix tribute act.

Although I have all the albums and have listened to him pretty extensively because of his prolific playing style, I definitely agree with this statement. And he really never diversified much so everything sounds pretty repetitious, and that 'white blooze' thing is a straight-up bore to me, whether its him or Gary Moore or Rory Gallagher or Peter Green or Mike Bloomfield or any of the rest.
