Goldie, I do a lot of ear training and gleaning of info from how to's and actual artists playing their songs. Very invaluable to me as I learn.
Ivan and DonP gifted me with many good answers to electronics and amp learning as I would ask them things, scour the web for explanations, then repeat back to them my summaries. They'd expound upon or review to make sure I was getting the info accurately. All very important to repair a few tube amps safely both for me and the amps.
 
I can dig it, Chili. :) I do the same, though lately with Elvis films and recordings from the late 60s and early 70s.
 
Me too,,,,,,,,,,, I was watching some Moby Grape the other day. I don't think I gave them any thought since my former neighbor and best friend's older sister used to play it for me before they moved to Australia around 1973 ish.

Boy was she a sweet girl. I remember once I was stricken with a fever and neither her parents or mine were home, nor her brothers and sister or mine. Just the 2 of us in her basement as she wrapped me in a big furry blanket to sweat the chills away and listen to various songs from her record collection. I vividly remember Jesus Christ Superstar and my fever breaking.

 
My turn for a little female appreciation. Dang, I found my new favorite lady bass player. Julia Lage, nice bass and easy on the eyes to boot.
