And then there are the lurkers like me, taking notes.
Fortunately, in a three piece I know my sonic spectrum. I also like a crear sound. I think my mix of humbuckers (occasional P-90 or Filtertron) and old Marshalls or Hiwatts has the base sound I need, and the very few pedals I do use are more for color. The KTR builds off of the base, then the Prince of Tone is a good lead boost. Delay and Wah are used when needed. I would like to try a good EQ sometime when we start playing more often to see how it sounds.
I watched this vid a year or so ago and enjoyed it. Didn't notice hum though. My faded SG used to do this. I also hunted hums I swore I has alleviated in my guitars, amps etc until I still heard him thru my solid state Princeton Chorus amp. Knowing I was in an old house, I figured maybe ground loops, or something external. It turned out to be dimmer switches ceiling lamp in living room below me. Turn off lights in living room, problem silenced. Put light on, hum returned.
Phenomenal player. Note the EVH Wolfgang...
Also note that between 3:10 and 3:30 you can hear the shielded character of this guitar as it hums anytime he is not touching the strings. None of my guitars do this regardless of volume or gain levels. It's a shielding issue...
Nice Gball. How is your injury recovering?
OK, Prog Wednesday has ended. Having a weird day, need something less polite.
