To Sing Or Not To Sing:

We have a great vocalist - very Halford-ish - but I still enjoy messing with some songs on the side for fun. My range is limited and I am not very versatile, so I try to stay in my comfort zone.

I have always loved the song Ready For Love by Bad Company and at rehearsal yesterday, we threw it down just to see what it might sound like with me doing the lead (only) vocals.

I doubt our band would do this song, but I am working on my own little side project and I MIGHT add it to the list, but I wanted to get your opinion on it as listeners and music aficionados. I know there is NO WAY to compete with Paul Rodgers - I get that - so I did this in my own style and stuck close to the basic arrangements.

Let me know what you guys think...

As for singing, well, I can't. CAN NOT. And trust me, no-one wants me to try, so I don't really have any perspective on what it would be like to do it in a live setting.

I can’t walk and chew gum at the same time. Let alone sing and play guitar. Sing decent bass. Cannot do melody decent enough to qualify as singing.

Some songs are easier to play and sing than others because of the time signature and rhythm arrangement...

We put our own spin to it and it is a two choice song... take it or leave it. Here is an early rendition of it we did early on. I think we only worked on it a few times. Again, our rendition......
