To phase or not to phase ....

In the late 70’s I bought an EHM phase shifter, Ed had one so I wanted to be cool, couldn’t dial in anything I liked with it, but my other guitarist Ceasar said hey man that sounds like the song Shattered..
So we learned that song and that was all I used it for.
Years later it got put in a drawer and I haven’t seen it since..

Cheers

Ok, I know I'm a few weeks late to this thread, but I think that what I have to say is relevant, so here goes. As has been mentioned, a phaser can easily be "too much" when used. In his original post @LiveeviL2000 mentioned the one knob MXR Phase 90. Now what I'm going to suggest may not be for everyone, as it involves following instructions & soldering to build from a kit (though they can be sometimes bought "pre built"), but my suggestion is the BYOC Phase Royal. This is the MXR Phase 90 circuit very much enhanced by the addition of various controls instead of just the single control. I have this variant Phase Royal Guitar Pedal Kit
& the description given by Tubedepot is quite apt. IMHO, the thing that most sets this phaser apart from all others is the wet/dry "mix" control that can go from 100% dry to 100% wet & anywhere in between. I can honestly say that the BYOC Phase Royal is out & out the best, most versatile & most "useable" phaser pedal I've seen. If building one isn't your thing, look to purchase one that's already assembled (reverb etc). Cheers
