That Orange Rocker 15 is what id buy if i had thextra coin layin around. I had Orange OR 15 head and sold it.Didnt like it,could get a decent clean out of it.Ive played nothing but a Orange Micro Terror for 3 years. Got rid ov ever other amp i own cept my scratch built Tube amp my Uncle made me.
The little Orange Micro Terror like you say John, is a great amp! in a very small package . I like the Orange Rocker 15 as well. When I decide to shell out some Rubbles , I will have a tough decision to make. The little micro is just such a beast for its size. Its just AAAAMMMAAZZZING!! little box!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ORANGE BABY YEA!!!!!!!
I run a 4 x 12 speaker enclosure with my Micro Terror. Get this, if i leave the volume the same when i go from my 1 x12 speaker to the 4 x12 speaker cab the 4 x 12 is actually louder. You would think 3 more speakers would suck some juice out of that thing but it dont. Love my Micro Terror.
I run mine into either an Eminence MESA 10" speaker or a HARTKE bass 12" cab --- honestly in the Hartke cab it foogin KILLS -- deep chug a lisious metal SABBATH -- crank gain and off you go -- simple-
Yeah, they sound really nice - I've nearly bought a TT in the sale many times. Is it the Brent Hinds version that's really nice (I've seen it here in Korea, but $600+, not cheap).
I do find it strange that Marshall abandoned the hybrid Valvestate concept of a tube in the preamp and a Solid State power amp.
Now Orange are running with the same idea and getting killer results with the Micro Terrors.
Yeah but I already have two gigworthy amps (thinking about selling one), a 9 watt tube amp and two practice amps plus another 5 watt tube amp that I'm building too many!
