Time for a change - VOX out

The Marshall I have in mind is the DSL-15c, I like 6V6 better than EL84. Then my ole buddy Hackmaster just showed me a smoking deal on a Mesa F30, but they run the EL84.
The Mesa Subway has EL84's also.
I was so close till the F30 was thrown into the mix.

WELL . . . a deal Has been done. I bought a Mesa Subway Rocket w/reverb. I almost bought one of these when they first came out, but thought it was a bit pricey. So now I buy one used for about half the price. Even though it has the EL84 tubes, Mesa manages to voice they different than the Brits do. Once it is in hand I will post pics, and sound clips. I thank everyone for their help, input and offers. Plus the dude at work who I found out plays guitar and just happen to own the Subway Rocket also. No I did not buy his. I got the one on Ebay that Mr. Grumpy posted the link to.

Soon as I take pics the AC15C1 is up for sale. I will give the forum here first dibs on it. only about 18 months old.

Oh yeah. You would never know there are '84's under the hood. Randy Smith must be some kind of black magician, because these things can thump way above their weight class. The only real giveaway is they do have that classic grind when you wind them up (power tubes break up real early), but for me that's a good thing. Good score!

Nice!!
Hope it is everything you are after and more.

This discussion is giving me tone wood.

I cant say I prefer EL84 over 6V6S, they both sound good just different.
I cant hear the little nuances you much more experienced hear.

OK . . . FedEx tracking says my Mesa Subway Rocket Reverb is suppose to arrive today. I am starting to Jones a bit. Haven't played through a Mesa in a loonnngggg time. Pictures to follow shortly

UPDATE: while I was waiting for the Mesa to arrive, I had contacted the factory in hopes of getting a wiring schematic for the amp.
They were very happy to email me a set of drawings. Apparently the Subway Rock had 4 versions of reverb, and two different switching circuits.
When I finally got to fire this puppy up to give it a test ride I find that the reverb will feedback when in rhythm mode. No problem I have a wiring schematic and a block diagram.
I also have a full set of Mesa pre-amp tubes from my repair days back in Fl. Tomorrow I will begin the process of fine tuning this lil gem. The trials and tribulations of buying used 23yo gear.
Yes the speakers date code is 1994.

OK so the problem has been resolved. I removed the chassis from the cabinet.
In this series of amps Mesa mounts the spring assembly INSIDE the chassis which is held in suspension with 4 tiny springs.
2 of the springs were free from the springs but still in the chassis holes. I reattached the springs, reassembled, and it is fine.

In time I will get 4 new springs because the ones in there now have been messed with before which I believe was why they pooped loose.
