Thursday night jam playing a song for the first time

Played my Yamaha LL16M at last Thursday night’s bar jam. This young woman jumped up on the stage and asked if we knew “She Hates Me” by Puddle of Mud. We all looked at each other mystified. I'd never heard of the band let alone the song. The bass player said he had heard it. She said the chords are F Bb G C. The bass player started us off and away we went. She turned out to be a pretty good singer. I looked up the song on YouTube later. We had actually done a pretty decent cover. It's always fun to play a song no one in the band knows how to play :)

I had never heard the song before but after listening to both versions I prefer the inappropriate version. It has more emotional appeal.

Oh, that so coulda been a train wreck  Glad it went well.

PS - never heard of the song either, but have heard of the band name.

Yeah, usually at least one of us has an idea what the song sounds like. At least she gave us the chords. I like the challenge of bar jams. I get to learn a lot of songs on the fly. I turn down until I have an idea how the song goes, then turn up and fly at it. Then you hit some weird bridge or an unexpected key change and have to turn down again :) The three guys in the house band are so good they can keep it going until the rest of us figure it out.

Glad you pulled that off, it sounds absolutely terrifying.

Ahhh, the musings of young love.

I like the song but didnt know the band.
