The hollow body Les Paul is called the "Howard Roberts Fusion."
It is a blend of solid body play-ability on a jazz musicians instrument.
The only real major difference is the long tailpiece. He called the stop tailpiece a mistake.

I bought one new around 2000 from Sam Ash. It was a Les Paul Florentine. Great sounding, did jazz very well (not by me though) but it had the most serious neck dive with no weight in the body. Sold it after a few years since I couldn’t play it standing up.

CONGRATS -- looks like a fun project.

FYI that fretboard may need SEVERAL oilings before its "good" depending on how long the tapes been on it -------I know first hand
took 3 separate "heavy" oilings to save the FB on this "gifted" kit


but now it plays and sounds EXCELLENT

However, it all went bad and the dog did not help.

as they say in the paint game, you put chips on ya salt laddy !! Dam !!

I waited a week, wet flat 400’s and it looks sort of ok now
