Three Guitar Shootout - Which Tones Do You Perfer???

I thought the point was to pick out differences and decide which we like better...as per the first post. In a live mix, no. In front of your amp playjng, yes. With some pickups absolutlely.
Then why the remark about greatest sonic palette due to wiring harnesses? 2021 has the most treble. Audible differences one can hear.
Otheriwse everyone picks the only available pickup on the market as it just wouldn't matter.

It's just intended as a fun sonic exercise.

Have you ever tried the 21 tone Jimmy Page harness?

It's remarkable!

In a session environment for hire, the 21 tone harness brings a lot to the table, series, parallel, in and out of phase, etc.

I get the fun exercise. Wouldn't be a point if there was no difference at all between them. Just when I post similar ideas that I can absolutley hear I get shot down as it being false. Kinda frustrating is all.

No I haven't but the L6-S has each pickup singly then both in Parallel, series and both in and out of phase with each of those.
I don't like out of phase but the rest are quite useful! Single coil addition would be cool too.

I used to think I could hear ever nuance. I had a producer actually record my guitars and play them back for me - to include analyzing the waveforms - and I was absolutely stunned that I was hearing something that wasn't really tangible.

I couldn't believe it, but it made my life so much easier once I got past it. It's one reason I now own so few guitars.

I share this experience because I found the revelation extremely interesting, almost sureal in nature.

You may have a different opinion and that's totally cool too. I've also stopped replying to a lot of posts to avoid unpopular opinions.

I was once asked “how do you decide what guitar to use on what song.” I just shrugged and said it’s really pretty simple, if I created the riff on a certain guitar, that’s the guitar I use on that recording just by virtue the dimensions are a bit different so it might be a tad more difficult for me to play that same riff or lick on the other guitar. Because honestly, no one is going to give a damn what guitar I used, chances are no one would hear a difference.

Well, unpopular or not everyone's opinion counts!
With no change in EQ at amp, the Yamaha is decidedly higher in treble tha most others I have. I will compare the Godin and Yammy there is quite a difference sonically if recorded flat.
