I have a Blackstar HTV-112 open back cab I’m using with my Quilter 101 Reverb head. It came with a Celestion 70/80 speaker which I replace with a VHT Pitbull P50E speaker made by Emminence. It is 16 ohms. The Quilter wants 8 ohms. It sounds good now but the Emminence is rated at 50 watts. The Quilter is 100 watts limited to 50 watts. Transients can hit 100 watts. I’m afraid of blowing the Emminence plus at 16 ohms I may not be getting full loudness. I’m thinking of ordering an Emminence 1258, 8 ohm, rated for 75 watts. I like the demos of it. Quilter actually uses it in one of their cabs so I have listened to demos with a Quilter amp and liked it. Thoughts? Any experience with the 1258? I’m looking for Fender Deluxe Reverb tone.
