this one is for you Mike

At the risk utter HERESY and gasps of shock and disgust, I'm gonna say it: Jake E Lee was and still is my favorite guitarist from Ozzy Osbourne's solo era. Yes, i know who im placing him above too lol

Randy was a virtuoso and an instant legend, Zakk is the longest enduring guitarist with pinch harmonics from God, and then Brad Gillis and Joe Holmes were great too in their short stints ( never was a Gus G fan). But Jake had something about him that I clicked with. The Ultimate Sin tour home video I owned on VHS as a kid got worn out so bad the tape dissipated lol

I liked him before i knew his name, my brother love watching football ( yes in Europe we call it football, not soccer ) :) during half times they would play some music clips on Tv and thats when i saw Jake E lee doing crazy solo. I was mesmerised, then i had my vhs ready to record :) Anyone with electric guitar :) didnt care who it was as long as played electric guitar.

Anyway it was this clip

This is what made me become a full Jake junkie, same video i owned, bout as bad of quality as mine became lol but hey, hes doing the Finger slide tricks you're doing too!

Lots of those 80s guys were great guitarists that get unfairly judged because they were in "hair bands". But thats a narrow and lame statement really.

Vitto Bratta, Tracii Guns, Chris Holmes, Warren DiMartini, John Sykes, George Lynch, Carlos Cavazo, Mick Mars, Richie Sambora, Vivian Campell, Phil Collen, Dave Snake Sabo, Reb Beach, Nuno Bettencourt, Jeff LeBar, Oz Fox were all great players who often get overlooked sadly

Sykes is one of my favorite ever probably. That dude was a beast. If its any statement on how awesome he was: Whitesnake had to hire Vivian Campbell and Adrian Vandenberg just to replace him as a single guitarist when he got canned lol
