The Greatest Generation invaded Normandy on D-Day on this date in 1944. Let's all remember the sacrifice that allows us to prosper and be the men we are today...
I'm afraid that sacrifice is lost on the younger generation. They don't understand what was given to them...the ultimate sacrifice.
My grandfather was on that beach and he survived...physically at least. I know the loss he suffered just being there never left him...

I had been anticipating this all month but forgot this morning.
At Memorial Day through D-Day I reflect on this.
I pretty regularly watch everything I can about WWII era world history.
And history in general.
I think you are right Chris; so many younger people today don't understand the sacrifice, or the value of the freedoms fought for.
So many dont even know "their rights" include the responsibility that comes with freedoms, which also includes the understanding the rights of others count just as much as theirs.
It is utterly disgusting and disgraceful what goes on where protesters think it their right to block someones elses from speaking or supporting an opinion contrary to their own, or to riot and destroy property.
Very scary stuff.
