Think Gibson USA QC Has Improved...

Have you tried one of these gball, I have tried a Les Paul, Like you say here in your comments, you are lead to believe they can't get what they want elsewhere. If this is the case, Well give this guitar a try at $2,250 dollars. Forget about the name on the headstock and just play it. I would put this up against a Les Paul any time for Quality and playability. And the price is very fair.

I have not, although I have played other Godins. They are damn nice guitars but I don't find my Gibsons lacking in any way. They give me everything I am looking for and over the years ever time I have tried something else I have ended up back with a Gibson.

For the first time...let it all go...was surprised how passionate i am.. & it's good...it's good for all to believe in their chosen guitars. Being so much more interested in the making of music side of things...i don't remember many that didn't get it done. From all the manufacturers. I seemed to have wound up on the basic Gibson models. All with dif pickups for dif jobs. Def buy guitars for the tonal range they will cover...drawn into a more natural look if it mattered. Not a fan of the thick poly...set necks will move,,just part of it.

My first impression..i know it right away if its a keeper..hold the neck & strike a chord..there is a certain sound & resonance can hear..clearly better on stand out ones. the neck has to fit our hands, I love guitars but don't know if i even look at em much. They all have to be out or available to -play immediately...21 of em are out in the recording bedroom(bedroomcore taken to a whole new level..lol) now a studio

if i don't play it in the 30 day cycle or record it..gone...but it is so nice to have a pickup/guitar selection when you are doing songs to really pair it with the amp & speakers...those 3 ingredients matter....they all sound dif...man..doing all this recording...exposed what they do sound like...the mic don't lie & sure can sit one right on top another in a mix just based on how they sound. We really can't bash any of em...Tele-Strat-LP- Sg-Acoustic the basic's for making music..they just do what they do

IM PLAYING A FIRBIRD RIGHT NOW----

I KEPT both gutiars that came in new and with issues--- I fixed said issues and still have 1 of the 2 the otehr got traded for a japanese VOX VIRAGE which got sold for more $ than an SG 60s tribute will EVER bring -- so I am "good" with it --
--- have many Gibson-- love em-- (Norlin era is still the best--period, er uhm period) --

wait-- what was I saying?

That was good yargnad, you got me on that one LOl. yes I do from time to time talk about Godin guitars, and I will continue to talk about them, just like Gibson guys will continue to talk Gibson guitars. I do have an open mind as I have talked not just about Godin, but others as well. I have posted Hamer, PRS and other guitar company's as well, and said how I like them. I have owned Fender, B.C Rich were very good guitars. And not to be sarcastic, there has been more talk about Gibson guitars on this site , than any other guitars. So maybe to some I might talk about Godin guitars a lot . Well not from what I see, that being said I am NOT a Gibson Hater, by no means, But I am against any guitar manufacturer that is producing guitars with flaws on a regular basis, that is charging consumers big bucks for their products and yet they keep telling how great they are. Gibson sales are down and they are having financial problems for a reason, bad product. I was on a site for Gibson employees, check out how many disgruntled workers that are working there? I have opportunity to play many Brands of guitars, and have the time to check quality e tc etc. And many times I have given Congrats to those who have purchased guitars from Gibson and other Manufacturers . So when you see me talk about Godin guitars, just think I am just like you guys who like to talk about Gibson, There are more very good guitar companies out there besides Gibson and Fender. :) the competition knows them , you should too.

That's a demo guitar from the Sweetwater showroom. The damage was likely done by people pawing it there, not some nefarious plot by Gibson to plant inferior products throughout the World. You can find the same kind of "flaws" in demo products they offer from every maker.

Could be...

My brand new (then) 2003 SG standard had cracks in the binding around the fret ends and cracks that connected frets like this one, brand new out of the box. Gibson's Nicholas Chemsak wrote me an email (i still have it) and said that was "normal" and wouldn't affect the guitar.

My life is so peaceful since I just moved totally away from Gibson. No refretting brand new guitars, no shielding brand new guitars....just playing.....

find it interesting..have never had a bad Gibson...every guitar soon as i get it.. set it up anyways...always do neck relief & intonation..very rarely do they even go out of tune...

i want nothing from a guitar maker but to have it ready for me to personalize at the said factory specs.,,i dont even care about the fretboards or anything..taking the guitar apart..dressing frets from the door..my set ups blow away anything that ever came to me..collector..pro shop..i take many months doing neck relief...and once its on & the the pickups are matched...insanely great guitars..Gibson sets up the easiest of any,,,simple truss rod to adjust....simple pickups to adjust...

guitars move,,its wood...weather changes...the arguement can go on, but reality is every other manufacture has just as much crap getting thru ..just gibson gets picked on..think i will buy another Gibson tonite to feel better bout it all...lol & then another amp to balance the ratio..

Pretty much why I moved back to Schecter...never had to touch them

My friend Reese Martin was a Gibson dealer 1970-2017 I got guitars at dealer cost. That Slash guitar is an entree level guitar.
I have a fetish for Brazilian Rosewood fingerboards all my best guitars have that attribute.
1980 I bought a 1963 Gibson flying Vee black nickle hardware black coffin case $300.00 I thought it was a fake it played well
the Gibson representative checked that guitar out it was real Reese called a private collector sold $350K
What other brand of guitar would go up in value like that please chime in.
