Think Gibson USA QC Has Improved...

o.k.

TBTF-- I have owned 2 (yep 2) Epiphone Thunderbirds with this bridge/saddle thing (well and an SG EB3)
1583718367931.png
both T-birds the stud PULLED OUT of the body (yes) on the low E side--both were bought used and quite some miles on them (and cheap) --but -- :poo: happens--
both I repaired with tite bond -- and -- no further issues-- but-----there ya go -- its NOT JUST Gibson --
I have had to replace pots- or MANY other things on USED guitars I bought (I dont buy a lot of new) --

so when the 1 SG I bought BRAND NEW had a bad pickup out of the BOX--
and the ONE Les Paul JR I bought NEW --- had robo tuners that :poo: the bed and a crappy sounding pickup-- well lets see thats
2-for not

conversely the
Grote
Squire 50's CV Bass
PRS SE 24
Dean Entwhistle Bass
Jackson Adrian SMith
all bought NEW -- all worked --- perfectly FINE w/zero issues----
uhm............
and also the sum total of the new NON GIBBO gear that worked is ABOUT THE SAME $$$ as the 2 Gibsons that didnt............

but Im "bashing" them?

no--- Im giving an honest account of MY experience--with NEW gear ONLY--I have ONLY BOUGHT 2 NEW GIBSONS ever--both had issues--
Gibson +0 and -2
other manufactures +5

Im really not BASHING them Im wanting them to IMPROVE-- I love the Gibsons I have --period-- Ive been a GIBSON GUY since I got my First KISS album-- in the 70's--done--

ThEY NEED TO STEP UP -- that is the whole point and maybe we are seeing them work through the GROWING pains of that now-- lets hope great things are to come--

it looks like the EPI LINE is "killing it" -- so ROME wasnt built in a day -- lets give em a couple seasons to get the change implemented and showing --

but-- if they are still putting out crap come 2022 ---- IM DONE WITH GIBSON FOREVER -----(Ill still take free ones though PM me for my addy) ;)

My wish is that Gibson would live up to the hype or be quiet and let the guitars sell themselves...

Yeah, but that's kind of my point. To me, they more than live up to the "hype" and I consider them a great value. I've owned everything at least once and nothing has ever come close to delivering the goods the way my Gibson's have.

I just know that when I personally think something doesn't live up to its reputation or price I don't go back there (Fender Custom Shop to be specific), so it always boggles my mind that people who claim to have repeated bad experiences keep buying the damn things...leads me to believe they can't get what they want elsewhere.

:hmmm::hmmm: I think I know a place. If they would give them a try..

Fender Custom Shop guitars are ridiculously priced as well. I've had two and sold them both. I mean come on...Leo built the Fender brand by making an affordable
guitar that was easy to work on and modify. They want to beat up an American Standard and then charge me a $5K premium...no thanks, I'll build my own.

That being said, it's a lot harder to build a Les Paul. So when I spend the premium for one I want it right. I don't want to have to work on it or take in in for service
the day after I buy it. My Epiphone Les Paul is out for delivery. Let's see how well they did with the "Norm" Burst!

Have you tried one of these gball, I have tried a Les Paul, Like you say here in your comments, you are lead to believe they can't get what they want elsewhere. If this is the case, Well give this guitar a try at $2,250 dollars. Forget about the name on the headstock and just play it. I would put this up against a Les Paul any time for Quality and playability. And the price is very fair.
