It's been raining here for days, now, It is the first time in over a decade that we've had a "normal" December and January. Generally. people have been pretty sane on the roads near me. About 3 AM I heard a small engine revving up in the 10k+rpm range and then the dull thud of a car hitting a tree and then the revving and light show as the missile continued , spinning in a tight circle east down the street before hitting a speed bump broadside and rolling several times, coming to a rest in a neighbor's driveway. The 2 occupants, rugged buggers, got out and pulled a fender off, removed some shrubbery and drove away. Nope, not a Subaru, but apparently a Mazda RX-8, based on the fender.......I never knew they were that tough!

Even if I'd had one in front of me, I don't think I would have been quick enough, but dang! I went down a little while ago to see the tree he hit, it will be fine. The rain has already washed most of the paint off of the trunk.

Man, why were you up at 3:00 AM ?

Quote, "hitting a speed bump broadside and rolling several times".
That's when arms can get ripped off, nasty stuff.
Lucky people to get out unhurt.
