That waitress gets my vote. A long time ago a bunch of us were in a cafe and giving the waitress a bit of a hard time. It was good natured, but close to the edge. Anyway, one of the guys ordered pie and custard for dessert. As she brought it over it slipped from the tray into the big pocket on the front of her apron. Anyway, she put the plate down in front of him, reached into the pocket, scooped out the pie and put it on the plate. We were howling with laughter. He ate it, and I'm pretty sure she never got tipped to well in her life.
Customer service is definitely context-dependent. There is no right way.

Some of ya'll REALLY need to use a period or a comma once in a while! They're free, you know. You don't get charged each time you use one.
