Don't be too hasty here. There is another side to that coin

My issue is that I'm in customer service. I'm pretty good at it.... yes, I brag. Been at it since early 80s. I've come to expect a certain level from others. I don't expect perfection. Mistakes happen. I do at least expect a little bit of effort on their part. There's just too much non-effort put into customer service these days.

Re that QI youtube on bad service, years back my wife and I were at a catered function, when the sweets were served two different dishes were given out repeating at every second table. One guest commented they didn't like what was put in front of her, the waitress cold faced said "You are allowed to swap". Cracked us up no end!

I hate things that break/tear up/won't work correctly and are designed in such a way that they are difficult or impossible to repair.
I've made a career out of troubleshooting and repairing large electrical equipment up to and including to 500kv. Some were made as early as the 1940's to the present, so fixing things is part of who I am.
I understand that manufacturers need to cut cost in designs but now seem to build in a greater failure rate, shorter life span, and never consider accommodations for routine maintenance or repairs.
This applies to almost everything built these days...appliances, cars, electronics, etc.
Products these days are made to be disposable not reliable.
