Things I See:

I also had an Ovation electro-accoustic many years ago; if I remember correctly it had a really weird rounded back, looked like somebody had tarred over it?

It would have been very useful in a canoe, but I never particularly liked it (not sure why I even bought it), and didn't have it long. I'm not talking about quality or tone, I just didn't like it's weirdness.

I had a couple of them. Did enjoy them, and do sound great plugged in to an acoustic amp.

Sitting and playing, they tended to slide off the lap a bit, didn't like that so much. More annoying than anything else.

I have a love hate relationship with acoustics.
I love the tone of a good acoustic & the portability of one.
I hate the fact that I just can't get comfortable with the size of em'.

I miss pinch harmonics and strings that respond d to touch. I DO play them when the song requires it....I wash my hands as soon as I am done....

Yeah Glen played a lot of solid body Ovation electrics on the he show also. IIRC Jerry Reed played them as well.

Glen was the first person I ever saw with the Ovation Solid Bodies, I remember him playing a white Breadwinner on a show, then eventually he got his own model. Ovation was also the guitars used on the Partridge Family show, Keith always used one and Danny used it for bass on the show.
