There Was So Much Outstanding Music

I'm probably the odd duck, but there's a lot of music I loved in middle/high school that I can't bear to listen to now and there is a plethora of music made since, especially in the last 10-15 years, that I love just as much or more as any of my long-standing favorites.

There's no lack of great music being made today. If you look for it you will find exciting new acts every time you search. Great music didn't end when we were kids.

I get your point. There is some pretty good music being made today. As there was in the 80s and 90s.

And I can promise you. There was garbage made in the 60s and 70s. Which was my HS years as was Norm’s. I chose not to listen to the garbage. And if they come on the radio today… still garbage. But groups I did listen to. Rare Earth, Grand Funk Railroad, Steppenwolf, early Chicago…. Even Tommy James and the Shondells, etc. When I hear those today I’m transported back to my misspent youth. I tend to associate time and life with songs…. Ex. Neil Young’s “Heart of Gold.” Still think about that first girl friend when it comes on since that was a hit while we were dating.

As for me…. Pretty much if I liked the song/group when I was in HS, I still enjoy listening today.

As always…. Your results may vary. ;)
