So, I saw in another thread that we have a couple of martial artists here...

A proper thread comes in handy.

If you like the art of fighting, and learn a fighting discipline as a way of getting to know yourself better and deal with your own fears and weaknesses, this is the place to talk about it.

As many friends know, I study Zen and Shotokan-Ryu Karate, and am very much into it.

That's great that you still practice. I made it to brown belt in Kuk Sool, but stop practicing 20 years ago. I have tattoos in Korean, so I would always remember some main basic Buddhist principles I was taught.
1. Yu: flowing like water - Water never struggles but its force wears down rocks and even mountains.
2. Won: The theory of circular movements and the cycles of life - Day and night. The seasons.
3. Hwa: Mind and body harmony - Muscle memory. Ki energy. Mindfulness. Thoughtlessness.

I wish I could show you the online journal I keep about my karate path. It's mostly my own impressions and the spiritual experiEncesI collect along the way.

Too bad it's not in English.
